Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan (literal translation "Supreme Ultimate Fist") is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for centuries for both its defence training and its health benefits. Today, Tai Chi Chuan offers people of every age and condition a system of slow meditative physical exercise for relaxation, balance and health.

The Yang style, founded by Yang Luchan (1799-1872), is one of the most popular styles of Tai Chi Chuan around the world. Its standard form is characterised by the slow, gentle, open and circular movements one often sees practised in the parks in China and Hong Kong.

News for 2012

Two new 'Tai Chi' films are eagerly awaited this year: one with Jet Li as Yang Luchan, showing the founding of the Yang style, and the second with Keannu Reeves, set in modern times - a welcome break from the usual 'Harry Potter' releases!

New students still welcome!
